PTA Events (6:00 pm - 7:00 pm, on Fridays)

Room Parent and Duties:

Each class will have a Room Parent who will be the voice of the other parents and the lifeline to them to keep them involved in school activities and events. If needed, room parent will be the major contact for each class regarding these matters.

Room parent stays in contact with the class parents, teacher and PTA to assist in any way the class may need during the school year.

On-Duty Parent Responsibilities:

On-Duty Parent policy is a new policy that starts this semester to ensure the best teaching environment for each class. Each week, the classroom on-duty parent will be assigned by school admin or PTA before Friday, please check your email before class and be sure to arrive in the classroom 5 minutes before class. The deposit of $30.00 will be refunded at the end of semester if no on-duty night is missed for the entire semester.

An on-duty parent is not only a representative for the parents in that classroom, but also a great opportunity for you to be involved in your child's school experience as well as to provide assistance to your child's teacher for the week/night you are assigned. Your job is not just sitting in the classroom. Your job as an on-duty parent is to delegate and coordinate. So here is a list of the specific duties for On-Duty Parent:
  • Meeting your child's teacher and inquiring about particular ways in which you can serve her or him during class.

  • Reinforcing school policy and disciplining children. Be role models. Parent should model the attitudes and behaviors to children.

  • Communicating and coordinating with the teacher on appropriate issues.

  • Arrive 5 minutes early to set up tables, chairs, and put them back to original position after class.

  • Any need for children assistance or support.
